El miércoles 17 de julio se dio a conocer la lista completa de nominados a los MTV Video Music Awards 2013, los premios que buscan destacar a los mejores videoclips que se realizaron en el último año.
La ceremonia en la que se conocerán los nombres de los ganadores se realizará el próximo 25 de agosto y será trasmitida en vivo desde el Barclays Center en Brooklyn por MTV. Los principales nominados son Justin Timberlake, Macklemore y Ryan Lewis con seis nominaciones cada uno.
Los principales duelos estarán por el lado femenino ya que renombradas estrellas como Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato y Taylor Swift deberán compartir categoría para luchar entre ellas por un mismo premio en dos categorías. También aparecen Rihanna, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez y Pitbull, entre otros.
